The City of Sturgis will begin accepting applications for the one remaining Adult Use Marihuana Retailer license in the Business Highway 1 (B-H1) zoning district on September 1, 2021. The window for accepting applications will close at 4:00 pm on November 23, 2021. All application documents and the application review fee must be received by the Community Development Department by this day and time. No applications will be accepted after the close of the window period.

Under the State of Michigan's Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act (MMFLA) the City of Sturgis has "opted in" to having five types of facilities: Class A, B, and C growers; processors; secure transporters; provisioning centers; and safety compliance facilities.
